Term 2 Cricket - Junior Group Sessions
(Year 5 - Year 8)

About

Clutch group sessions continue through the off season. While others aren't even thinking about cricket, we're training for 6 weeks of term 2 in indoor facilities.

Weeks 1-3: Batting Masterclass

Weeks 4-6: Bowling Masterclass

We aim to provide at least 1 coach per lane being used - with a ratio of 5-7 cricketers to each coach.

Purpose - Why train in the off-season?

Changes to a batter or bowler's technique during the season can result in an adjustment period where performance temporarily declines. The off-season provides a great opportunity to make any technical adjustments without the risk of negative impacts on performance.

Suitability

These programmes are designed for hard ball cricketers year 5 -year 8 (9-13 years of age). If you child is year 4 and is ready to train with hard ball cricketers they can be considered for the programme. At each session mini groups will be formed based on ability to ensure all cricketers are training at a level suitable for them.

Term 2 - What to expect

Batting Masterclass - How to build an innings

In the first 3 weeks we cover the three stages of batting that cricketers need to become skilled at in order to build an innings. We cover the type of shots to play at each stage and how to execute them.

Bowling Masterclass - Become an effective bowler

In the second 3 weeks we cover becoming an accurate and effective bowler. Suitable for both spin and pace bowlers, we cover the basics all bowlers should strive to achieve on hte cricket field.
